- BELIEVE IN YOURSELF: King Saul said to David; “You are not able to go out against the Philistine and fight him; you are only a boy and he has been a fighting man from his youth”. –1 Sam. 17:33. This new year, beware of your advisors, especially those who counsel after the flesh. The reasons advanced by Saul excluded David’s competencies completely.
Do not let anyone belittle you. Anytime you look down on yourself, you give your adversary or opposition an upper hand over you. Believe in yourself. Trust in your own unique skills and abilities. Major on your strengths, not your weaknesses. Let your previous victories or successes propel you to greater heights this year. - BE COURAGEOUS: If success in life is only by reason of experience, then King Saul, being a man of war, should have stood against Goliath. Abner, a renowned fighter was present, yet he was paralyzed with fear. David said; “Let no one lose heart because of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him”. – 1 Sam. 17:32.
Do not let fear strip you of your great destiny. Never be afraid to take steps especially as we have begun a new year. Dare to step out of your comfort zone. Confront your fears. Be a doer. Act on your ideas and WIN! - TRUST GOD: David was not deterred because he knew He had a God, who could not be contested. “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine”. – 1 Sam. 17:37
No matter how strong or angry your enemies are, they cannot defeat you-Believe! He who is in you is GREATER than them. This new year, know that God is with you and He is bent on giving you an all-year-round victory. Your life will no longer be full of ups and downs but ups and ups.
Life is short; make yourself happy. Inspire yourself. Be responsible for your own life. Your life is yours, Live it well and Love God.
